Kathy Manchip was born and raised in South Africa, where she barely stopped reading from the moment she figured it out — books were her life to such a degree that instead of being grounded, she would be forbidden from reading! She played and worked with art alongside of the reading all through school, and kept on dabbling once she started college and her teaching degree.

1999 brought her to the U.S. with her husband, where she ended up with ample time to start polishing up her rusty talents. The birth of her son in 2003 and daughter in 2005 have reduced that free time for now, but she still writes and illustrates whenever she can find the moments — her life is certainly filled with plenty of inspiration!

Kathy has had a number of short stories published in magazines, as well as various picture puzzles.
